How to use progress reports
See what students practise, where they struggle, and how to help. Pick the guide that fits you.
Make a parent account
Sign up for a free account and choose Parent as the account type. If you scanned a code first, sign up or log in and you will be taken back to finish linking.
Follow your child
- Scan the QR code from your child's teacher or from your child's My progress page. Or open My children and type the code.
- Check the name, then tap Yes, follow.
- Each code works once and expires after a few days. If it does not work, ask for a new one.
- You can follow up to 12 children, and a child can have up to 4 parents.
- The child can remove the link at any time, and so can you (Stop following).
My children
My children shows a card for each child: practice time this week, how many answers were right and how many badges they have. Press See progress for the full page.
Reading the progress page
- Time practised, practice rounds, answers right and days active, for the last 7, 30 or 90 days.
- Minutes practised shows which days your child practised.
- Words to practise lists the words and sentences missed most, and marks each one Needs practice, Improving or Strong.
- Accuracy by week shows whether answers are getting better.
- Activities lists each game with plays, time, accuracy and best score.
- Badges and certificates shows what your child has earned. Open a certificate to print it.
Words to practise, accuracy by week, reports and practice sheets are included when your child's teacher has the Pro plan. You may also see them for your own plan.
Helping with weak words
- Press Practice sheets to print a worksheet made from the words your child missed. Tick the words you want, choose the exercises and print.
- Press Print report for a one-page summary. In the print window choose "Save as PDF" to keep it.
- Practise a few words for five minutes a day rather than a long session once a week.
- Say each word out loud, split it into syllables, and find the tricky part together.
- Celebrate words that move from Needs practice to Improving.
E-mail updates
If your child's teacher sends progress e-mails you will get a short summary in your language. To stop them, open My children and untick E-mail me progress updates for that child. You can turn them back on at any time.
Privacy
- You only see the children you have linked with a code.
- Only the child, their teachers and the parents they linked can see their progress.
- Remove a link and you stop seeing that child straight away.
